Reading 3.
The big question of this reading was "What does it mean to be well-educated?" The author starts out by talking about his wife and how she has many years of schooling under her belt but lacks simple English and math skills. He also noticed that many other very "intelligent" people had the same problem. By the end of the piece he concludes that there is no true way determine what "well-educated" means. We only know that the goal of being well educated is to help ourselves, as well as others, be educated.
